Embark on a quest alongside King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table in this outrageous musical comedy. “Lovingly ripped off” from the film classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot delivers first-rate hilarity with a book by Eric Idle and music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning team of Eric Idle and John Du Prez. Spamalot: Despite not having released a new film since 1983's Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, Eric Idle has converted their classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail into a hit Broadway musical. Developed by Eric Idle, Spamalot has entertained audiences around the world with a familiar, yet twisted plot, hilarious songs, and humorous jabs at Broadway musicals themselves. After winning three Tony Awards on Broadway, Spamalot is now in the midst of its Second US National tour, with plenty of tour dates left in 2011. If you haven't yet seen Spamalot, grab this opportunity to see this revamp of one of comedy's most beloved stories on its latest concert schedule.

The musical begins with King Arthur scouring the English countryside, looking for knights to join his Round Table in Camelot. He is soon joined by plague collector Robin and the tough Lance, with Robin joining because of his love for song and dance. King Arthur finds Dennis Galahad harder to recruit, and the lad joins only after a snappy song and dance number from the Lady of the Lake and her Laker girls. After recruiting Sir Bedevere, the knights return to Camelot are soon called upon by God to find the Holy Grail. While the knights unsuccessfully storm a French castle with a Trojan Rabbit, King Arthur encounters the Black Knight and the Knights who say Ni. The Knights who say Ni demand a shrubbery, which is delivered, and then demand that Arthur put on a Broadway show. At his darkest moment, the Lady of the Lake reveals to Arthur that he's been in a Broadway show all along, and he soon finds the Grail. However, the knights face yet another challenge when they hear tell of The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog, and ride off to meet their final challenge.

While Spamalot may no longer be splitting the sides of audiences on Broadway, US audiences can experience this hilarious musical on its 2011 tour dates. Spamalot's tour schedule will last well into 2012, so be sure to check Eventful for information on when tour dates will be coming to your town.
