Fiddler On The Roof: One of the world's most popular and acclaimed musicals, Fiddler on the Roof, is preparing to entertain audiences once again with 2012 tour dates. This winner of nine Tony Awards has played on Broadway, the West End, and in theaters around the world, garnering acclaim from many critics. The musical's timeless theme of tradition, oppression, and modernization -- along with unforgettable songs and dance numbers -- has ensured that Fiddler on the Roof's legacy will live on for years to come.

Fiddler on the Roof tells the story of a poor Jewish milkman named Tevye living in Russian at the turn of the 20th century. Tevye is attempting to provide good lives for his family while also staying true to the traditions of his Jewish heritage. An example comes when Yente the matchmaker arranges a marriage between his oldest daughter, Tzeitel, and the village butcher, Lazar Wolf, despite Tzeitel's love for the poor tailor Motel. His second oldest daughter, Hodel, soon falls in love with a traveling Marxist tutor, who chides Hodel for conforming to traditions like men and women dancing separately. To make matters worse, the Russian government is slowly tightening its grip on the small town of Anatevka, with rumors of a violent racial attack and expulsions on the horizon. Tevye's third youngest daughter also finds a mismatched love in the Russian youth Fyedka, who defends her from his anti-semitic friends.

Fans can expect to find the humor, romance, conflict, and joy that is present in every production of the musical.
